How to spend a Korean spa day in Seoul

Data as of · Published

A Korean spa day usually means a bathhouse soak and scrub, then a head spa or a massage. Bathhouse entry is mostly ₩11,000 to ₩15,500, and most listed basic head spa courses are ₩88,000 to ₩127,500. Book the head spa ahead.

A Korean spa day does not need a resort. You put it together from pieces: a bathhouse for a long soak and a scrub, then a head spa for your scalp or a massage for the rest of you. Our guide to how a jjimjilbang visit works covers the bathhouse part, and this post picks places for each piece.

Planning the day

Nine places for a spa day: bathhouses, head spas and massage

In no particular order; none of them paid to be here. Prices and hours are from our data as of Sep 29, 2026. The first three are for the bath and heat, the next four are head spas, and the last two are massage.

Keep it in one part of town

Seoul is big, and crossing it between appointments eats the day. Mosante and Mo & Young are in Hongdae and Sinchon, a short bus ride from Supsok Hanbang Land. Hyoir on Garosu-gil, Jamong in Nonhyeon-dong and Yongin are all in Gangnam. WT Methode by City Hall is the one to pick if you are staying downtown.

How we picked these

We picked a mix of heat, scrub, head spa and massage so you can put a day together from one list. Each place has a clear address, and most can be booked on Naver or taken as a walk-in. For massage we stayed with a licensed anma center and a known chain.

Questions

Should I do the head spa before or after the bathhouse?

After. A head spa usually ends with a wash and blow dry, so doing it last means you leave with clean, dry hair instead of going back into a steam room.

Do I need to book everything ahead?

Most bathhouses take walk-ins. Head spas and massage rooms usually work by reservation, often through Naver, so book those first and plan the bathhouse around them.

What if my hair is long or curly?

Ask when you book. Some shops list an English-speaking designer, and a few include the blow dry in the price, which matters more the longer your hair is.
