Head spas in Seoul: where to go in Gangnam, Hongdae and beyond
Gangnam has many of Seoul's head spas, with more around Hongdae, Sinchon and Hannam. Most listed basic courses cost ₩88,000 to ₩127,500. Book ahead: Mosante Head Spa near Hapjeong is the one shop here confirmed to take walk-ins.
A Korean head spa is a long scalp and hair session: often a quick scalp check with a small camera, then a wash, a scalp massage and a blow-dry. Our head spa guide explains what happens in more detail. This post is about where to book one.
Before you book
- Book ahead. Some shops here are reservation only, and a course takes a room and a staff member for an hour or more. Many take Naver bookings; our Naver booking guide covers doing that without a Korean phone number.
- Know the price range. Most listed basic courses in Seoul cost ₩88,000 to ₩127,500. Longer courses and add-ons such as a neck and shoulder massage cost more.
- Ask about the finish. Some shops end with a wash and blow-dry and some do not. If you are going somewhere afterward, check first.
- Check holiday hours. Several shops list special hours for the October 3 public holiday, so look at the listing if you go that weekend.

Hyoir Head Spa (Gangnam) 효이르헤드스파 강남점
A head spa up on the fourth floor of a Garosu-gil building in Sinsa-dong, so you can pair it with an afternoon of shopping on the street below. The course ends with a wash and blow-dry, which helps if you have dinner plans. It is open into the evening every day.
Good to know: Reservation only. The walk from Sinsa Station exit 8 takes under ten minutes.

Dr.ForHair Care Lab (Gangnam Main) 닥터포헤어 케어랩 강남본점
The flagship scalp-care center of Dr.ForHair, a Korean hair-care brand. It sits at street level on Bongeunsa-ro, close to Sinnonhyeon Station, and it is used to foreign guests.
Good to know: Exit 4 of Sinnonhyeon Station is about 100 m away.

Sungim Head Spa 성임헤드스파
A Cheongdam head spa run by its founder, on the fourth floor of the Hilltop Building off Dosan-daero. It is a short walk from the Apgujeong Rodeo boutiques and keeps daytime hours, closing in the early evening.
Good to know: It does not take Naver bookings, so call ahead. Valet parking costs ₩5,000.

Momo Scalp Head Spa 모모스칼프 헤드스파
A head spa run by its owner in the Hanshin Intervalley 24 complex on Teheran-ro, Yeoksam-dong. There is an English menu, which makes choosing a course easier, and the shop welcomes foreign guests.
Good to know: It is not on Naver booking, so contact the shop directly.

Mosante Head Spa (Hapjeong) 모생떼헤드스파
A fourth-floor head spa in Seogyo-dong, between Hongdae and Hapjeong. It has couple rooms, finishes with a wash and blow-dry, and stays open until 10 pm every day. It also takes walk-ins.

Josiane Laure Flagship Spa (Hannam) 조지앙 로르 플래그십 스파 한남
The head spa of Josiane Laure, a French natural-care brand, on the fifth floor of the Suyoung Building on Hannam-daero 20-gil. Hannam is full of cafes and design shops, and the spa is open every day, including Sunday.

A basement head spa in UN Village, the quiet hillside corner of Hannam-dong, and one that was written up in an English-language travel guide in 2026. It is used to foreign guests.
Good to know: The walk there is uphill, so wear comfortable shoes. It is not on Naver booking.

Which area to pick
Gangnam has many head spas, spread from Sinsa and Garosu-gil to Cheongdam and the office towers of Yeoksam, so it is the easy choice if you are staying south of the river. Hongdae and Sinchon suit a day in the west of the city, and they are where you will find couple rooms and the one shop here confirmed to take walk-ins. Hannam is quieter and a good fit if you are already in Itaewon.

Can I go to a head spa with a friend or partner?
Yes. Mo & Young in Sinchon and Mosante Head Spa near Hapjeong both have couple rooms, so two people can go through the course side by side. Book the couple room ahead.
Will my hair be dried and styled at the end?
It depends on the shop. Hyoir Head Spa and Mosante Head Spa include a wash and blow-dry, while at Mo & Young in Sinchon it is not part of the course. Ask when you book if you have plans afterward.
Can I book a head spa without speaking Korean?
Most shops here take bookings on Naver, which you can do in an app. Mo & Young in Sinchon has an English-speaking designer, and Momo Scalp Head Spa has an English menu.
